primo giorno di scuola..quasi..primo giorno di post doc..non c'è molta differenza..la sveglia l'ho messa presto, che non si sa mai..
Apro gli occhi..spengo il cellulare che suona "Barcelona" e la prima cosa che vedo dopo il cellulare è un ragno che si cala con fare tutt'altro che circospetto da un metro e mezzo sopra di me, verso il mio naso.
Bestemmio. Soffio un po' (non come un gatto, piuttosto come il vento) verso di lui e il ragno capisce che non tira aria e risale per lo stesso filo grazie al quale si è calato.
Il buon giorno si vede dal mattino, dice Irene. Speriamo di no, dico io...
Se la buona notte si vede dalla sera invece allora va bene: due pinte di birra con un mezzo sconosciuto piuttosto cordiale e tutt'altro che spiacevole. Qualche aneddoto sulla Cambridge degli anni d'oro. L'immagine di un vecchio premio nobel che a 85 anni arriva curvo in laboratorio, si chiude a fare esperimenti da solo con le sue macchine degli anni 70 e lo si rivede solamente alle 3.45 p.m. - precise - in sala comune, curvo, con la sua tazza di the macchiato ed il suo biscotto. Lui si che ne sa.

Dopo le presentazioni e spiegandoti le sue buone ragioni, il malintenzionato ti proporrà una cosa strafiga e strasicura: fatti fare da un tuo amico un versamento a nome tuo di 900£ alla Western Union (di modo che solamente tu potrai ritirarlo) e poi mi mandi copia della ricevuta cosi controllo che effettivamente questi soldi ci siano e siano mobilitati...
Viene quasi da chiedersi come mai non gli basti una copia del tuo estratto conto bancario...

the place seems nice and I also like the position. I am definitely a person who treat things well and I would really like to see the apartment. Since I will be beginning my post-doc in October, I was planning a visit in Cambridge around the 15th of September, in order to personally see the flat I will eventually rent. Will it be too late for you or do you think it will be possible for me to see it on those days?

One more questions, what taxes/bills will I have to pay besides the 500£ of the monthly rent?

You won't be paying any other taxes/bills, all i have been incude in your monthly.

I can see the necessity for you to have a view of the property and believe me am giving this a serious consideration as i really want to let the property out to you.I have on two different occasion came for a viewing of the property and later find out that my proposed tenants are not capable of making things happen..believe me some don't even have the money to pay for the deposits...they have really claimed to be so much irresponsible so far as they made me come all the way down for nothing.Am not trying to insinuate anything here..am only telling you this to make you more certain am serious about my intentions and that i want responsible tenants in my property while am away in Edinburgh.When i come for the viewing of the property,i would have my lawyer prepare a Tenancy Agreement so we can both have them signed and also come along with the keys if you want me to...you just let me know. One more thing...i would require security deposit and a month rent when i meet you in person for the viewing...please let me know if you okay with this.I would also require reference from your previous landlord if you can provide one and also some kind of proof of your ability to pay me the funds when am around before i book my flight to meet you for the viewing.I don't mean to be rude but i think you can understand.

I spoke about the viewing with a friend,he advise me that i should accept a proof through Western Union money transfer before i can meet you in Cambridge for the viewing and i don't like the idea of collecting money upfront before you view the property so that's why i'll prefer to be done this way.

Note:The reason why i said you should use Western Union  is because it is the only money transfer that is secured and can be verified only that it was actually made and i don't want to get involve in any of your bank details for security reasons.

Pare che ci sia della gente che per passatempo falsifica documenti e frega soldi depositati alla Wester Union. Una di queste persone ha provato ad affittarmi un appartamento fittizio per andarsene coi soldi della caparra e abbiamo pensato che sarebbe sia divertente che utile riportare in questo blog i punti salienti della truffa. A cominciare dalla sua risposta al mio appartamento-in-affitto-cercasi. Buona lettura.

It is located in Gonville Place, Cambridge CB1 1LY
Amenities include. Central Heating,Desk,Good wireless internet Connection,Gas hob,Washing machine,Dishwasher,Microwave Oven,Television with Built-in DVD Player,Garden and Parking space.
A security refundable deposit of £400.However,The deposit will be refund back to you two days before your tenancy expires.
The property is available for both short and long term contract.
I lost my phone at a friend party some few days ago so i won't be able to call or receive calls for now but i would let you know once i get another one soon and I believe,we can have a better conversation on mail to mail which i believe it will be more understandable for both of us to get each other right.
